Today's verse is going to be based off of 1 Timothy 4:12! It's a really great verse, that should speak to a lot of us today. 

Let's get started!

I really have just gotten used to being treated like a four year old in everything related to church. No one at church has ever acted like they looked at me as a young lady, or anybody special, really. No one talks to me.

I've gotten used to this, and pretty much just convinced myself that I am just some little kid, and I won't be able to do anything significant until I'm older.

For some reason, everyone at church seems to treat me like this. This one lady at church always talks in a kiddish voice to me, and says, "Awh!! Sweet girl!"

Yeah, it's pretty funny, but it's just really annoying when pretty much everyone treats you this way.

Honestly, I'm still not sure how to get people to not do this to me. It really just discourages me.

But for everyone near my age (middle/high school), I think we all go through this thing where we think that we're too young to do anything. We'll just have to wait until we're older. But in God's eyes, that's not true. And we shouldn't let people say that's true.

But the thing is, I was wondering what I could do at my age, that would somehow impact people, and glorify God. That's when I'm pretty sure I got more serious about Christian music.

Currently I'm praying about finding someone who could give me guitar lessons, but at the moment I'm just enjoying learning about Christian music itself.

Playing music just seems like a career you would have when you're an adult, but I realized that almost every Christian artist got their start when they we're young. I once read that Phil Wickham, a Christian artist, started leading worship at church when he was twelve years old.

That's something I would love to ask him. Just how did his church react to something like that? Someone who was probably a little kid in the eyes of a lot of people, was up on stage leading worship.

This should be an encouragement for all of us, to dream a little bigger, and chase after the passions that God has given us. It's never too early to start chasing after them now, and praying for your future.

1 Timothy 4:12 says,

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

-

Even when you start chasing after your passions, or praying about your future, don't let anyone look down on you. If whatever your passion is, is from God, you're doing the right thing, and nobody has the right to look down on you, or tell you that you can't do it. Instead, set an example for them in the way you talk, the way you love, the way you live, and in everything you do.

And Philippians 4:13 says,

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

With God, anything is possible, and we have to believe that.

Chasing after your passions that God has given you might seem risky, and it might be scary to see what people will say, but if we're doing this for God, it will all be worth it in the end. People might say we're too young, we're not good enough, we'll never be able to do it, but those are all lies from the enemy. He just wants us to think that so God won't get the glory in His plans for us.

So, chase after your passions. Do what God wants you to do. It will all be worth it in the end.

Finding Issac's Future Wife, Part 1! (In Which It Is Discovered That I Draw Camels Way Better Than People.)

Since the month of March will be completely Christian-centric for the Animal Jam Friendship Community, my usual art posts would be out of order. I'll admit I was at a loss as to what I should do, I'm not the greatest at typing up posts without any art in them to talk about. I mentioned that I was feeling stuck to my blog-friends, and in a flash of inspiration, Sarahkey8 suggested that I could draw Bible scenes!

And so I shall. 😊 Thank you, Sarah, you have saved my tail -- and my posts!



This week and the next will be the sketch and final version (respectively) of this scene from Genesis, where a servant of Abraham's (who is never called by name) is sent back to the land Abraham came from to find a wife for his son, Issac!

10 Then the servant left, taking with him ten of his master’s camels loaded with all kinds of good things from his master. He set out for Aram Naharaim[b] and made his way to the town of Nahor. 11 He had the camels kneel down near the well outside the town; it was toward evening, the time the women go out to draw water.

12 Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor. 16 The woman was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.

17 The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.”

18 “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.

19 After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.” 20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels. 21 Without saying a word, the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful.

22 When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka[c] and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels.[d]23 Then he asked, “Whose daughter are you? Please tell me, is there room in your father’s house for us to spend the night?”

24 She answered him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milkah bore to Nahor.” 25 And she added, “We have plenty of straw and fodder,as well as room for you to spend the night.”

26 Then the man bowed down and worshiped the Lord, 27 saying, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.”

So there's... wait... my font's stuck.

What?? But that's different! How do I make it go back?

Oh well. This works, I guess.

So there's your background... ten camels kneeling by the well, an unnamed servant, and a very kind girl willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for those ten thirsty camels. (They can drink a LOT of water!!)

Here's the sketch!

Camel 1: "Ooh, a butterfly!"

Camel 2: "Hey, what's that girl doing?"

(Sit down, you guys, you're supposed to be kneeling, remember?)

Camel 3: "Move over, I can't see what's happening!"

Camel 4: *gasp* "She's gonna give us water, guys! WATER!"

Camel 5: "Ooooooo, a well. I wonder what's at the bottom." (He is clearly not the sharpest camel in the drawer.)

Camel 6: "You are my new favorite person, Nice Water Girl."

Camel 7: *is on the verge of realizing what's going on*

Camel 8 looks more like "Pig 1" than Camel 8. I think he needs a redraw.

Camel 9: *has already realized what's going on and is giving Nice Water Girl a big, camel-y grin*

Camel 10 has big ears. And is crammed in there at a weird angle as a result of me running out of space.

Rebekah is holding a water jug that looks suspiciously like a scaled-up decorative vase.

Mister Unnamed Servant of Abraham looks downright creepy. ...Maybe I should just draw camels from now on. Hmmm, my new series could be "The Bible From a Camel's Point of View"!

Rebekah and Mister Unnamed Servant of Abraham need to have properly-researched clothing by the finished version... assuming anyone actually knows what clothes looked like back then. Does anyone have any good historical resources for that?? Please leave 'em for me in the comments if you do! 😃

"No Matter How It Ends, You're With Me Even Then"

Hi, guys! Welcome to post number three in the #FocusingOnGod month!

Today's post, is going to be a post I stole! :D Isn't that awesome? :D

Okay not really, I stole the beginning part from myself, hehe! I had a few sentences of this post written on my Flaming Arrow blog, but never finished it. I pretty much only kept one sentence in this post, but..

Speaking of my Flaming Arrow blog, I had a really hard time logging into my FlamingArrow account to get to the post draft... Are any of you guys having problems signing into any other Google accounts you have? Orr is it just my laptop? Which very well could be the problem. XD

Anywho, let's jump into today's post, which is entitled "No Matter How It Ends, You're With Me Even Then". It's going to be based off of the song, Even Then, by Micah Tyler! It's also going to be more like the posts you'll see on my Flaming Arrow For Jesus blog. ^.^ (Which I really need to post on..)

When things come up in our lives, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It can sometimes feel like we'll never get out of the mess we're in.

No matter what we do, this thing in our life seems to never go away. It just hangs there like a cloud. Whether that's anxiety, depression, or just a really difficult friend situation. Every morning we wake up, and the cloud's hanging over us. Every night we lay down, and it's still there.

I was in that situation for a really long time, dealing with anxiety. It was ongoing, every day, for almost two years. It was a really hard time, and I was certain I would never get through it. No matter how hard I tried, no matter what I did, the cloud was just constantly over me. I was pretty much convinced that it would stay that way all my life.

Then one small thing happened.

Something small, that I'm sure everyone would say God would never used.

Someone brought to our Friday night Bible study, a catalog.

GAAAAAAAASP

Hehehe, it sounds really dumb, but God can use silly little things like that to get our attention.

On the catalog, was a book that sounded interesting to me. It was called Goliath Must Fall, by Louie Giglio. I remembered my dad mentioned how Louie battled anxiety for a time in his life, so I thought Goliath Must Fall must have something to do with that.

For some reason, I felt like I just had to get this book. When we were coming back home from Bible study, I read a few paragraphs in the book, and I just knew it. I had to get this.

My mom bought it for me a day or so later, and I believe a few days after that, I found the website for Louie's church.

One night, my mom said that she wanted us to do a family devotional. I had noticed that Louie had a sermon series that was on the website to his church, that was also called Goliath Must Fall, so I mentioned that we could do that.

We did, and after we kept watching Louie's sermon series', and I kept reading Goliath Must Fall, my anxiety just seemed to drift away. It wasn't some instant thing, no, it was just a process. A process I'm still going through today. But, I feel like now that I'm actually reading God's Word, and constantly being encouraged by Louie's sermons, my anxiety isn't nearly as bad.

When my anxiety started up two years ago, was during the time we went to Disneyland. I had the worst panic attack, and really couldn't enjoy myself the whole time. I barely even ate when we went there.

But, we just went back to Disneyland in November, and I didn't have any panic attacks or anything. That was a huge step for me. It was almost like God showing me that my anxiety is over. It's done.

Of course, I still get anxiety every now and then about little things. Like I said above, it's a process that I'm still going through.

You might be going through the same thing. But, through it all, God's with us. No matter what we walk through in life, God's right in front of us, leading the way, getting us through whatever situation we're in. Psalm 23:4 says,

Even though I walk

through the darkest valley,

23:4 Or the valley of the shadow of death

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

-

It's amazing to think how Jesus Christ, the God of the universe, the same God who spoke the earth into being, who knit me together in my mother's womb (Psalm 139:13) is leading and guiding us. That should give us great peace.

No matter how it ends, even when the situation you're in looks dark, God is with us. If the situation you're in doesn't end up the way you would like it to, God can use it for your good, and His glory.
