Good Good Father

Before you read today's blog post I'm calling "Good Good Father", I encourage you guys to listen to the song called, "Good Good Father" by Christ Tomlin, that I have down below.

So many people wonder who God is. Some people think He was just a good person, or a prophet, some might think He's just this crazy God who's against every person alive, or some people have just decided He's nothing, and doesn't exist. People don't realize who He really is. He's a good good Father.

When someone says the word, “father”, a lot of things might come to your mind. Maybe your own father, a family friend, or that word might hurt, if you have a rocky relationship with your dad. Or, worse, never even met your father. I know Father’s Day is a really hard time for some kids and families.

But that’s not who God is. He doesn’t want to have a rocky relationship with you. He longs to know you, and He already loves you more than you could ever imagine. John 1:12-13 says,

-

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

-

God doesn't want a rocky relationship with you. He wants you fully committed to Him, because He's a good good Father. God wants you to be His child. It's a right we have, but the question is, will you take that right?

Today, I really saw God's goodness and love demonstrated right before me. I run slides at our church, and for whatever reason the computer was running super slow. It was about a 3-5 second gap before the next slide would come up on the screen. The whole time during the worship, I'm just praying that the next slide will go. I was so stressed, but by the second song I truly saw God working, and helping me through it. I would have to click the next slide while they're still singing the lyrics on the other slide I was on, but as soon as they started singing the lyrics that needed to be on the screen, the slide popped up. This happened over and over, and I knew it had to be God. I know it sounds like a silly little thing, but the slides are a really big part of the service, so the slide going up exactly when it needs to, was a really big deal to me. You might be wondering, "Why does God do these small little things?" Because He's a good good Father.

Happy Father's Day!
