And The Fight Begins...

__________________________________________________________________

Hello guys! Hope you all are having a great day! My morning was um, quite interesting, but you know here we are. Everything is good. Don't ask about the intro, cause I really don't know!

You're probably asking yourself, "What is up with the title?" You know I am kind of wondering the same thing. However, it's something that I feel Christians don't really see. I know I didn't until, my pastor started a series of sermons on this particular thing. What's that thing you ask? It's spiritual warfare.

I've been battling with myself to whether I should write an entire book on this topic, fictional course, but I have thought about it. Actually an entire year have I thought about it. I knew it was a thing, but I didn't really understand it, and I still don't UNDERSTAND it. I do have a little bit more of an insight on the topic though.

You see, as Christians we are in a "war." We battle with the world, the flesh, and the devil. The ideas of the world influence us, especially if you are around people who are unsaved on a regular basis (meaning you go to a public school, or go to work). Christians are called to be separate from the world.

Romans 12:1-2

1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We wrestle with the flesh, the things that we want to do. The flesh doesn't want to get up early to pray and read the Bible. We know it's the right thing to do, but we don't want to do it. We know we should be working on writing, or playing instruments, but it's so easy to lay in bed watching YouTube. (I'm guilty of that one).

Romans 7:15-20

15) For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16) If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17) Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19) For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20) Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

We also fight with the devil and spiritual beings. Which is hard, because they are so much more powerful than you!

 Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 1 Peter 5:8-9

8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9) Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

It's hard to fight. We get tired of fighting. When Jesus was in the wildness of temptation, He kept fighting. He kept going, quoting scripture along the way. He remember what He was here to do. He kept thinking about His purpose in this world. Though it was tough to be tempted it was necessary.

Just like Jesus, it's tough to be tempted with the things of this world. It's hard to fight, but we have to keep going. We have to step it up. We have to remember our purpose. We all have a purpose. We too, need to keep fighting, quoting scripture along the way.

I believe we are in the last days. I believe Jesus Christ is coming back to get his Bride really soon. We are told that it's going to get hard, and it already is.

2 Timothy 3:1

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

With that being said, I would like to encourage you to keep going. Keep fighting! Don't quit on God. Don't stop saying no to the flesh. Don't give into sin. I know it's easy to fall away, but I think we all, with Paul would like to say:

2 Timothy 4:7-8
7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

In order to say, it's going to require a fight. And to that I say... "And the Fight Begins..."
