Art I Am Very Excited About

This week, I’ll be taking a short break from chibis... mainly because I realized I don’t know how to draw Gandalf, nor do I have a chibi base that fits his proportions (both being obstacles that could be surmounted — if it weren’t well past 4 o’clock in the morning. I need a better schedule).

Instead, I was wondering if you’d like to see a painting I was working on earlier. I think it turned out really well (read: “best drawing evaaaaaaar asdfghklihjbkfjg I’m so exited!!“), and I hope you guys will like it too! 😊

The color palette beside it is what I used to color her uniform-dress-thingie. It was made by a color-palette-auto-generating web program... something I didn’t know existed until, like, yesterday.

I’m really glad it exists though.

I used the program Procreate to make this, like I do for basically everything in these Tuesday posts. 😋 I used different brushes than for the chibis, though! “Gouache” and “Hard Airbrush”, mostly, but the Smudge tool played a HUGE role in it, too.

This drawing took a long, looooooong time, but I think it was worth it in the end! This kind of thing is something I really love to do, and it’d be SO great if I could do it as a job one day. I’ve heard of people selling characters they’ve made up for real money — have any of you heard of that? I think that’d be really cool, even if I couldn’t do it for a living, it’d be a productive hobby.
