Chapter 3 Trapped

 

And they were off they searched high and low, they searched for half an hour they were going to give up when Philip heard a strange noise. 

“Did you hear that?" Philip asked.

 Everyone stopped walking and listened.

“What noise?” Said Jenny.

 “I thought I heard a howling sort of noise,” Philip said.

“I didn’t hear anything,” Said Jenny.

 “Neither did I,” Said James.

 "All I hear is the sound of the birds and the trees"

 “I guess I’m just hearing things” Said Philip.

But after they had started walking again Philip heard the noise again and this time Jenny and James heard it too.

“It’s coming from over there!” Said Jenny.

They all ran towards the sound “I don’t see anything” Said James.

 "Me ether" Said Philip, "but I can hear it.

They ran and ran and then they saw it Jenny gasped, they saw in front of them that the dog was caught in a trap that was meant for catching foxes. But this trap wasn’t even supposed to be here, 1 year ago or so all the traps were suppose to be cleaned up because harmless things like rabbits, and outdoor cats, would get stuck in them, they must have missed this trap missed.

“What are we going to do?" Asked Jenny.

"We don’t know how to undo these things” James looked at the trap, and the dog, he had no idea how he was going to get the dog out Philip tried to lift up the part of the trap that was holding down the dog he couldn’t do it.

"We can't get him out and we can't leave him here, what should we do?" Philip asked.

“Wait!" Said James, "my Dad knows how to do these traps, so the only way that I would know how to save this dog is to go get him. 

Cool Animal Fact: Puppies have 28 teeth and normal adult dogs have 42.
